Weekly Campus Updates: March 3

Irons Junior High is proud to recognize the following “STUDENTS OF THE WEEK” for their academic or social achievements.

Ms. Fisk would like to recognize Zoey Zettel for always working hard and helping others.

Mrs. Porter would like to recognize Colby Vuong, Josh Bush, Daniella Garcia, McKayla Meng, Kaitkyn Lounsberry, and Olivia Gonzalez for constant hard work and wonderful attitudes. Ms. Porter is proud of your effort.

Team Zombie Slayers would like to recognize Kendall Burns as Student of the Week. She always comes to class with a smile on her face and a positive attitude. She has a great work ethic and never shys away from helping her classmates. Keep it up, Kendall!

Congratulations goes to Steven Drabbant for placing first place in Earth and Space Category with his Science Fair project- How Does the Sun Affect Radio Propagation. Steven was also awarded a Specialty Award by the Astronomy Club of Houston.

Also, Congrats to Davie Dickenson for placing second in Medicine and Health with her project – Does Age Affect Memory?

Both students will be heading to the State Science Fair in San Antonio on March 31st to represent Irons. Mrs. Peel says that we expect them to do very well at the State Science Fair. Best of luck to them.

Outstanding Artist of the week from Mrs. Kane is ADRIAN HILL.

Congratulations to the Irons Orchestra students who participated in the Irons Solo and Ensemble Contest here on Saturday. Students earned a total of 56 medals in both solo and ensemble categories. Thank you to all that participated and thank you for all of your effort!

The Orchestra musicians of the week were selected because they made it to the ALL REGION ORCHESTRA. This All-Region Orchestra is a FULL Symphony Orchestra, which includes string, brass, woodwinds, and percussion.

Congratulations to these Orchestra students! This is a great honor.

The 7th Grade HAWKS Star Athlete of the Week is Nathanel Murphy. Murphy borke the school record in the triple Jump with a mark 37 feet and 6 inches.

The 8th Grade HAWKS Star Athlete of the Week is Jack Calhoun. Calhoun broke the school record in the Long Jump with a mark of 19 feet and 7 inches.

The 7th grade Lady Hawks Star Athlete of the Week is Emerald St Laurent.

The 8th grade Lady Hawks Star Athlete of the Week is Morgan Dutton.

The PE student is Angelica Larner is a partner for partner’s PE. Loves working with the students in PE. Doe s great job .
