Weekly Campus Update – Spring UIL Meet Results

Several of Irons students placed in the top 6 at the District UIL A+ Academic Competition at Knox Jr. High School on on April 12th.  Irons JHS swept the Art division at UIL taking the top three awards!  From the ART category, 1st Place went to Kylie Weeks, 2nd Place went to Erika Lunkwitz and 3rd Place went to  Ava Garrelts.  Christina Campbell earned 2nd Place in Impromptu Speaking and Mary Dillard got 6th Place in Oral Reading. Jason Bott got 3rd Place in Maps, Graphs & Charts while Abby Kerr & Courtney Mayo got 6th Place. Shailey Laycock earned 4th Place in Math. David Wallington earned 2nd Place in Science  while Jason Royer got 4th Place in Science. A big thank you goes out to the following UIL coaches as well for all of their time and effort to prepare our students: Mrs. Willeford with Art and Mrs. Meyers with Impromptu Speaking and Oral Reading, Mrs. Risner with  Science and Mr. Bass with Maps, Graphs & Charts, and last but not least, Mr. Cox from Number Sense and Math.  Overall, Irons placed 3rd in the entire district at the UIL competition!!!  Way to go Irons students and UIL coaches!
