North Texas Teen Book Festival

NTTBF MISSION:

  • INSPIRE life-long readers
  • CULTIVATE love of reading
  • CELEBRATE teen literature

The NORTH TEXAS TEEN BOOK FESTIVAL strives to connect our reading community, adding dimension to the reading experience through diverse author panels and dynamic discussions in a safe and fun environment.

The North Texas Teen Book Festival will be held on April 21, 2018 in Irving, TX at the Irving Convention Center. Irons Jr. High has chartered a bus to take 45 students to this festival, free of charge. The charter bus will depart from Irons on April 21st at 5:00 am and will return to Irons at approximately 9:00 pm.

Students will be allowed to select which panels or activities they would like to attend. The students may meet on April 18th after school, in the library, to work with each other and plan their schedule for the day. Not all students will want to attend the same panels or activities. So, they will be free to move along from one activity to the next, much like changing classes during the school day. Students will be monitored by adult volunteers throughout the festival. All students are expected to follow the directions of all adult volunteers at all times.

Parent permission forms may be picked up in the library. These forms are due to Mrs. Lundberg, the librarian, by April 11th. If permission forms are not submitted by April 11th, then the student will not be permitted to attend this field trip. The first 45 students to return their signed permission slip will be given a seat on the bus. So, turn these in as soon as possible.

If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Lundberg in the library or email her at slundberg@conroeisd.net. More information can be found on the NTTBF website or the PDF below.
