The North Texas Teen Book Festival was held in Irving last Saturday, April 21st. The mission of the festival is to inspire lifelong readers, cultivate a love of reading, and celebrate teen literature. NTTBF strives to connect the reading community, adding dimension to the reading experience through diverse author panels and dynamic discussions in a safe and fun environment. (NTTBF Website)
Thirty-eight students from Irons were able to attend the festival sponsored by the Irons Library. With just over 70 middle grade and young adult authors in attendance, readers were able to find something for every interest. Students enjoyed listening in on panels of some of their favorite authors and were introduced to new authors throughout the day. Students also participated in book-related activities and many came home with new books to add to their home library. The day concluded with book signings, where students were able to meet authors face-to-face while having their books personalized.
